Every now and then I have some spare time and I get to make one of my ideas a reality. This page is for fun projects that don’t really fit in any particular category, but use a lot of my different skills.

COMING SOON – “RE-TIRED” ARTWORK FROM OLD BICYCLE TIRES AND PARTS

Some of these projects have been entered in the Nebraska State Fair’s “Fine Craft” division. I have a lot of fun with them, from the idea to figuring out how I’m going to build it to completing the actual project.

Have a look through and if you have a crazy idea for a commission piece, let me know and we’ll make it happen!

I’ve made a series of ceramic masks and painted a few of them. My long term goal is to create a gallery show of masks on stands that people can look through (as seen in the lower image).

Here’s a guitar I made a while back as a birthday gift. I bought a kit to get started, then chopped away at the body to make something completely different.

I’ve also made some top hats (I LOVE to make wearable art!). My favorite is the “Doing the Bird Cage Walk” hat, complete with a animatronic bird on a motion sensor.

Another fun project was my midi theremin. I learned a lot building this piece and had a blast creating this video with some of the locals in my small town.

As you can imagine, I like to work in a lot of different mediums and learn new techniques. I try to combine more than one medium in many of my projects, but mostly I am just learning new skills to give me new avenues to explore my creativity. Here are some more random pieces that I’ve worked on over the years.
