2024 in (Quick) Review - life as an artist usually

2024 in (Quick) Review - life as an artist usually has it's ups and downs, but this past year was one heck of a roller coaster! :O
It started with my preparing for the 'Tadweer' show hosted by the @souqwaqif_artcenter in Doha Qatar. I made a LOT of special work for this show, but sadly, the show was a complete bust for all artists. #LongStory I got back and was fairly dejected, but I threw myself into a new series using recycled bike parts! 😀 I started with the Raven, and then continued on with more in the series throughout the year. Spring turned to Summer and I was able to travel out to California to visit my family out there #GreatTimes In August the Prius hit a deer and was replaced with newer, bigger vehicle so I can pack more artwork into it! #ArtShows
I spent a good amount of time working on a 'steampunk' toilet! At the same time, I was also working on my chimps!
As September came along, I was honored to host @jo_caminiti_artist in my studio and home for 3 weeks as we worked together on a large metal sculpture for the Arts Council of Thayer County! We had a wonderful grand opening, and the group is currently working on the space where it will reside in Hebron NE.
I went back to work on my chimps and soon it was "Custom Christmas Artwork" time! 😀 I made a horse portrait that was very popular, and also a Joshua Tree pencil (which tested my skills!) and of course was busy with saws orders!
As Christmas orders were finally completed, I finished my year with a wonderful trip to Vancouver and rang in the New Year!
I'm back home now, working on Chimp #2 (See No Evil) and looking forward to an amazing 2025!
