I have been carving pencils for almost 10 years and love the challenge of taking an old, used pencil and creating something amazing from it! This is one of my classic train carvings, and is based on the original design I made 8 years ago. Each generation of new carvings gets a little more detailed as I challenge myself to go further.

Here’s a fun little scene I made that shows how I imagine pencils get made. The top pencil shows a ‘coal car’ bringing graphite out of the mine and then dumping it down to make a new pencil.
