PENCIL ART | “RE-TIRED” ARTWORK

Phoenix Metal Sculpture with Fire Pit by Cindy Chinn - For Sale

This piece was completed in 2023 and is made from scrap metal, including a LOT of old saw blades and some glass. The bottom section is a fire ring that uses propane for fuel, and is easily attached to a tank or can be plumbed. It can also be converted to natural gas if requested.

Height is about 9 feet tall, it weighs in about 450 pounds. The wings are removable for shipping, and the bottom ring is separate from the sculpture. The base has wheels and can be easily moved with the sculpture on it.

This is a unique piece that I made and one of those projects that I just had to get out of my head!

I have this piece in my shop and (almost) ready to ship. I want to work on the fire pit area a little more to control the oxygen flow for a cleaner burn with propane.

Life size metal Peacock Sculpture Cindy Chinn
  • Available Summer of 2024

This is stunning piece of artwork created from a wide mix of materials. The flight feathers are hand carved wood. The wing feathers are brass with a custom patina added for color (not painted). The body is copper with an ammonia fumed patina to create the beautiful blue color. The tail feathers are stainless with a brushed brass finish. The long train feathers (over 160) are built from a stainless steel rod with thousands of pieces of copper wire individually soldered on (and then patina’d) and the ‘eye’ on the end of each one is a cloisonné (glass enamel) on copper.

The base holds the support made from scrap iron and an old propane heater tube. It is sheeted in stainless steel and has over 500 hand formed copper and brass leaves attached. Added to the ground is copper grass with small periwinkle blue enamel flowers. The front of the base has a museum style plaque describing the bird. Two copper handles are used to raise and lower the retractable wheels.

Bison Herd carved from a pencil lead - detailed work by Cindy Chinn

Big Top Train carved from a pencil lead - detailed work by Cindy Chinn
  • Available for Purchase

I’ve carved a LOT of trains from pencils over the years! The first pencil I ever carved was a train, and after it went viral, I was busy carving more.

This is by far my most detailed train carving. I wanted to design something fun and whimsical, so I came up with a circus theme. You can see the elephant and giraffe, as well as detailed text on the side of the cars.

This one of a kind piece comes in a wood case with glass cover, and of course, a magnifying glass!
