Cindy Chinn’s sculptural work moves across reclaimed steel, bicycle tires, cutlery, found objects, and other materials. Rather than beginning with a fixed medium, the work often develops through an exploration of the material itself, its history, limitations, and possibilities. Scale ranges from intimate objects to large, highly detailed works built from hundreds of individual components.

Materials often arrive with a history already attached to them. A discarded wrench, a bicycle tire, or a box of old flatware carries evidence of its previous use. Cindy’s process does not attempt to erase that history, but to use it as part of the finished work.
